Seeds Planted: Closing Our First Round

Dear friends, colleagues, and Lua compatriots,

We couldn’t be more excited to announce that our seed round of $2.5M has officially closed! We’re unbelievably proud to have some of the best investors in the world joining our team. In the lead, we have Roger Ehrenberg, Ben Siscovick and the world class team at IA Ventures. A collection of incredible angels will also be joining us on our journey. This group includes Strauss Zelnick (CEO, Zelnick Media), John Maloney (Former President, Tumblr), David Tisch (Managing Director, Techstars), Aaron Stone (Partner, Apollo Management), Justin Shaffer (Facebook), Carla Geisser and Baris Yuksel (Google), Jonathan Peachey (Board Member, Virgin), Barry Silbert (CEO, Second Market), Bo Yaghmaie (Partner, Cooley LLP), Matthew Hiltzik (Founder, Hiltzik Strategies), The Roven Family (Producers, The Dark Knight Rises), Michael Fleisher (Former Vice Chairman, Warner Music Group), Aryeh Bourkoff (Founder, LionTree Advisors; Former Vice Chairman and Head of Americas Investment Banking, UBS), RSL Ventures Partners, and Tom Glocer (Former CEO, Thomson Reuters).

The funding will allow us to make key hires, as well as expand horizontally into other industries seeking a more efficient way to share data and communicate in real time. A big thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. This has already been a long, hard road, and it’s only getting started. The team here at Lua has set an incredibly strong foundation for our vision. This is day one, we are ten strong and growing.
